DON'T just come and listen ....
WHY not come and play a musical instrument or sing?
The group meet fortnightly on a Monday evening from 7 pm till after 8 pm, (times can vary), in the church hall, High Street, Clackmannan. The age of group members ranges from 5 to 60+.
A variety of instruments are played and songs sung by the younger members lead by Lauren Scotland.
The Musical Allsorts has performed at the Guild, Sauchie Circle of Friends and at the Tree Festival.
The ukulele section “Clackulele” is made up of young and old members, beginners and improvers and is lead by Margaret Sneddon. They meet on Monday evenings at 7 pm in the Bruce Memorial Hall, to the rear of the manse, Port Street, Clackmannan.
Clackulele met after the summer break on 26th August and just in time to rehearse for a few performances in September and October. We also played alongside Cannie Strummers at a fundraising event organised by Alzheimer’s Scotland.
We had very succesful gigs in November at the Tillicoultry Seniors and Tullibody CDT (AGM). We also had a very enjoyable performance at the Festival of Christmas at Clackmannan Church.
We had a very successful evening playing on 23 rd January when we entertain the trefoil Guild and again on the 6th February when the residents of Menstrie House were entertained.
Up and coming gigs are:
19th March. - Clackmannan Circle of Friends - Event cancelled as a precautionary measure.
22nd April. - Residents, Parkway Court, Alloa
Clackulele Group at Clackmannan Church Festival of Christmas 2019
How about this - even if you CAN'T play like most of our beginners then why not join us anyway and learn to play this remakable instrument like our members shown in the picture?
