IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL MEMBERS
Clackmannan Parish Church of Scotland
Concerning coronavirus (COVID-19)
Church of Scotland
Rev Rae Clark
Mr James B Millar
5 Mannan Drive
To all members of Clackmannan Parish Church of Scotland
I write today to advise you that the Kirk Session has responded with great care to the advice we have received from 121 regarding public worship and other activities during the Coronavirus pandemic. It has therefore decided, with great sadness, to follow recommendations and cancel all worship and all other regular and occasional activities with immediate effect. This cancellation will remain in place until we are advised that it is safe to resume, but at this stage that cancellation includes the planned Annual Bereavement Service as well as Holy Week and Easter Services.
This has not been an easy decision as we all would have wished to continue meeting together to worship, to serve, and to enjoy fellowship together. However, given the very serious potential implications of increasing the spread of this virus, there really is no safe way of adopting a ‘business as usual’ approach at this time.
I would hope and pray that you will understand this decision and support the Kirk Session for having taken it so carefully. Elders’ responsibilities weigh heavily at times like this, and I know they would appreciate your prayers, love, and support.
Please do all that you can to keep yourselves and others as safe as possible. Please follow medical and Government advice about hand washing, social interaction and other activities. And please remember you are still the church in this community! That means we can still pray, still love one another, and still trust that God is with us. We may not be physically meeting together for the foreseeable future, but the Kirk Session and I will work together to consider the ways in which we might still be able to offer various forms of worship and other helpful activities.
Things are changing rapidly at the moment and the Kirk Session will carefully monitor and respond to any further guidance we receive. More information will be shared with you at appropriate times, primarily through your Elder or via the Church website, but please do not hesitate to phone me if you have any questions, suggestions, or offers of help.
Every blessing to you all,
Rev Rae Clark, Minister
