Festival of Christmas

Active Groups
At Clackmannan Parish Church we were proud to present our 13th three day

Festival of Christmas

The Festival was an exciting and enjoyable three day event from

Thursday 5th December to Saturday 7th December 2019
The Church was open to visitirs from 10 am - 8 pm each day except Saturday when the festival concluded with community carol singing from 7 pm to 7.30 pm

The Theme this year was 'Wild Life'

Many families, local businesses, youth and adult organisations sponsored displays and fashioned these in their own way to represent the theme. Clackmannan Primary School children helped to decorate the Church by creating wonderfully coloured poster size pictures of wild life which included; reindeer, birds, squirrels and more. Classes from the school visited the festival and joined in the merriment by voting for their choice of best display, write a letter and post it to Santa and of course solve a puzzle which was scattered amongst some of the displays. They also enjoyed juice and biscuits. Some of the classes also entertained many visitors by singing Christmas songs.

Visitors were also able to vote for their choice of best display and over the course of the three days the votes were counted and three winners announced. Third was the display from the Ladies Badminton Club, Clackmannan. Second was Heartfelt Friends also from Clackmannan and the top prize was awarded to Freya, Evie and Gran from Clackmannan.

During the three days there was also a full programme of entertainment which included; Dave Sinclair and Friends, Scottish Folk Music; Ballet dancing; Hillfoots Recorder Ensemble, Clackulele, Ukulele Group; Resonate Singers; Sauchie Community Choir; Musical Allsorts; and much more. There were also craft tables where you could buy gifts from a wide selection of crafts and Fairtrade products. And of course, there was always the opportunity to choose from a range of refreshments and eats. The three day event was rounded off on the Saturday evening with carol singing.

Thanks has to go to all the sponsors and volunteers without whose help the festival would not have been such a success. A special thanks has to go to Mrs Helen Paterson who was the main event organiser. If you missed the celebrations this year then get it in your diary for a visit next year. All are welcome to join us.

Meanwhile why not check out our photo gallery showing some of the beautiful displays this year. The just keep getting Better!
