Clackmannan Parish Church has a small, but enthusiastic choir meeting in the Bruce Memorial Hall on Thursday evenings at 7.00 pm.
The choir sings an Introit and Offering most Sundays of the year and practice time is spent on these and the selected hymns for the Sunday service.
Numbers don’t allow us to learn big sacred pieces, but we concentrate on more modern arrangements of popular hymns and songs in four part harmony and unison.
The choir performed last year at a church concert, contributed to the church’s Service of Remembrance and Communion Services. They led the singing at “Light up Clackmannan” at Christmas. The choir usually leads the singing at the Christmas Tree Festival carol service.
Cuccini’s Ave Maria with flute and piano accompaniment was a recent addition to the repertoire which was very well received by the congregation.
If you would like to join us please come along one Thursday evening. You don’t need to be able to read music - just love singing. If there is a piano student out there who would like to learn accompanying skills then you would be most welcome, as conducting and accompanying at the same time is quite a juggling act! If you are interested then please contact Meg Carroll our Church Organist and Choir Leader by Email.
